I actually have to block comments (well require approval, that will never come) because we have over 170,000 friends and 1 app request every 5-7 minutes.... yuck! we unchecked this box, blocked all the evil apps (the own your friend and movies quizes are especially evil)... and deny our info.. and STILL... every 2-4 days... this box somehow checks itself again......... we have HTML comments turnned on so the app comments strech our layout its riducious. any idea????? it just keeps happening... hello –

Annoying? Sure. But then again, you'll only have real people and not bots leaving you comments. Which to most of us is worth it.
